YOU can be a teacher!  All you have to do is nurture the Catholic faith in our young people. In the end our volunteer catechists are responsible to our parish priest and parish community.
 

Volunteer catechists:

1. Have a desire to share the Catholic faith.  
2. See and appreciate Jesus Christ in each student.
3. Prepare lessons using a teacher’s manual and other available resources.
4. Can take advantage of catechist workshops and grade level training.
5. Attend teacher meetings if needed.
6. Arrive early to set up class and greet students.
7. Complete mandatory “Called to Protect” training for new teachers.
8. ATTEND MASS REGULARLY and ALL Holy Days of Obligation.

 

Time Required: 
Catechists must fulfill the class schedule for approximately seven months (late September through April).

         
Available Resources and Support: 

1. Director of Faith Formation and Assistant Coordinator.
2. Excellent, easy-to-follow teacher manuals
3. Limited class size
4. Art easels
5. Excellent library resources available daily
6. Support from Faith Formation office for copies, etc.
