We have known for years that music is good for body and soul. Making music with a group, whether it’s singing in a choir or playing in an ensemble, fosters a sense of belonging that just makes you feel good! And that translates to better overall health. Check out the research.
When we sing at Mass as a community, whether it’s in the pews or in the choir, we are ministering to each other, really celebrating the Mass together.
- Adult Choir sings every Sunday at the 10:30 AM Mass, for holidays and the celebration of Confirmation. We host parish concerts, and enjoy making music with choirs from other parishes. Our members are active in community outreach, “adopting” a family every Christmas to provide gifts and necessities to brighten their holiday. One of our talented altos donates many of her handmade scarves, wraps and handwarmers wherever they are needed.
- Resurrection Choir provides musical support at our funeral liturgies, a lovely way to bring comfort to our brothers and sisters at a difficult time.
- Teen Choir provides music at 5 p.m Mass on the first Sunday of the month from October to May. These talented young people are members of the Saint Mary Youth Group, active in numerous service projects and fundraisers. Weekly rehearsal, Sundays, 6:30pm- 8:00pm for the Teen Mass. No rehearsals on days of Teen Mass or holidays or during the summer. Come enjoy the music and use the gifts God has given you.
