Artwork raffle and Gala showing the work of Patrick Antonelle, Fr. John's brother, will take place in the Parish Hall, May 21st, 6pm - 8pm. Tickets are being sold for just the raffle or a limited number are sold to attend the art show opening Gala with wine and appetizers. This will be an elegant social event, a long awaited opportunity for some extravagance. Some of the artwork being raffled will be displayed before and after Masses. A wonderful event that you won't want to miss!! Get your tickets in the office or after Mass.
Thank you to everyone who came to support the breakfast event at St. Mary’s for the music programs at Portland high and middle schools. The chefs in the kitchen did a great job preparing the food and the senior students were wonderful and courteous in serving the people. Fr. John and Patsy were happy to have this event back and look forward to hosting it again.
Now that we’ve changed the clocks forward indicating another sign that Spring is around the corner, let’s keep our spirits up and help others to do the same.
Masses and ashes distribution will be Wednesday, March 2nd, at 8:00am and 6:30 pm. Pope Francis has requested that Ash Wednesday fasting and prayers be for Ukraine.
Operation Rice Bowl will be returning this Lent. The money raised will help feed the hungry around the world. 25% of the proceeds will stay in the diocese to help feed our local people in need.
I’m very excited to report that our Youth Group is getting up and running again ! We moved our Mass and Activity nights to the first SATURDAY of the month at the regularly scheduled 5pm Mass and can't wait to have your Teen join us. Youth choir will provide the upbeat music and teens are encouraged to volunteer as Lectors, Altar Servers, Serve as Collectors, and greet Parishioners. Teens can then stay to enjoy dinner together and an activity!!! An amazing experience that you want you and your friends to be a part of

St. Thomas Aquinas on the University of Connecticut Campus invites young adults ages 18 – 40 to join them monthly for the Metanoia lecture series. Each month a speaker will share their faith journey and how it has opened them up to embracing their true, authentic self. Conversation will be geared to how we can share our gifts and live our God-given mission. The first talk will take place on September 23rd at 6:30pm with Gloria Purvis. Grow in your relationship with God through our weekly Hope and Faith Video Series which take place weekly throughout the year. The Office of Faith Events creates videos that are less 3 minutes long which delve into monthly topics like love, church knowledge, Saints, and spiritually. We encourage you to dedicate just a few minutes weekly to enliven your faith. The Office of Faith Events invites people of all ages to participate in Virtual Bingo! Bingo will take place on Sunday, September 19th and June 13th from 3:30 – 5pm. You will receive your cards online, mark them and even remark them for the next game or you can print them and play. Through video conferencing, we will call the numbers and play different BINGO games from regular bingo, double bingo, picture frame, and finally black out! It will be great fun with lots of gift certificates for prizes! We are only selling 200 cards, so act fast! The cost is $6 per card for the whole Bingo event!
